  • What is unique about Divine Consign?
Divine Consign is not a thrift store, flea market or garage sale. Divine Consign is the creme-de-la-creme of resale shops! Divine Consign has a 3,500 sq. ft. showroom to display and sell new and previously owned upscale, quality home furnishings and home accessories. Our stock comes from the Chicago area’s better homes. We maintain consignor contracts for 60 days resulting in a constant turnover of quality goods promoting high, repeat shopper traffic. Our goal is to make consignment shopping fun, affordable and, above all, convenient! Divine Consign offers fast affordable professional reasonably priced pick-up and delivery services.No more sifting through junk at that musty dirty thrift store or gasping at the prices of that “high end” Antique Boutique. Divine Consign offers furniture that everybody can use at prices everybody can afford! How’s that for a novel idea?
  • What items will Divine Consign accept?
We are interested in any attractive piece that would fit in the home such as: furniture, artwork (including framed pieces, sculpture, etc.), area rugs, lamps, and home accent items. We accept crystal and glass vases, bowls and occasionally high end stemware. We do not accept mattresses, bedding, electronics, appliances, camping or sports items, organs, plastic lawn furniture, grills, or miscellaneous “everyday” dishes. Please call or email us if you have a question concerning whether your items would be appropriate for consignment with Divine Consign.Divine Consign is NOT a thrift store! Divine Consign will not accept damaged, ripped, torn, stained or outdated items. Generally, items must be less than 10 years old. On a scale of 1 – 10 (with 10 being the highest) Divine Consign will only accept those items that are a 7 or higher. Please keep in mind that our acceptance of items is based upon what our clients tell us that they want to buy, so please do not be offended if we are unable to take certain items.
  • Where are you located?

  • What are your hours?
Daily consignment hours are 11 AM to 6 PM Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday through Friday, 11AM to 7PM,  Saturday11 am to 6 pm and Sunday 12PM to 5PM . Consignments will also be accepted anytime with a prior appointment.  We strongly recommend that you stay away from weekends as there will surely be a long wait to songn your items.  We also recommend that you call (708) 386-3366 or email to make an appointment so we can give you the time and attention that you deserve!
  • How do I find out if my items will sell in your store?
Divine Consign is not a thrift store and will not accept or sell “thrift” or “garage sale” quality items. Divine Consign is the cremede la creme of consignment stores. We cannot accept any item that is damaged, ripped, stained, severely scratched, worn or outdated. Generally we will accept items that are in good consition and still relevant (popular). On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the highest), Divine Consign will only accept items that are a 7 or higher.Please take a picture of the items and email to info@DivineConsignOakPark.com including your name, address and phone number. From the photos, we will determine whether your item is appropriate for our clientele. Our decision whether to accept an items is based solely upon the desire of our customers. Please do not be offended if we are unable to accept certain items. You can also call (708) 386-3366 or email to make an appointment to view your items.You are welcome to bring your items anytime during store hours, but please keep in mind that we may be busy so there may be a wait. Also, without having the items pre-approved, there is a chance we will be unable to take the items. Our selection of items is based on the criteria set forth above and the wishes of our clientele. Please do not be offended if we are unable to accept an item.
  • Are my items marked down over the 60 day consignment period?
Items remain the full sale price for three weeks. After three weeks, the items will be marked down 20% for another three weeks. After six weeks the items will be marked down 40% from the original sales price. However, most items sell within the first three weeks.Our consignors receive 50% of the final selling price.
  • Does your insurance cover my items when they are in your possession?
The consignor retains ownership and title to all articles consigned to Divine Consign as outlined in the Consignment Agreement. The owner remains responsible for the items. Of course, we will make every effort to protect your items (it is in our interest too), however, Divine Consign is not responsible for any item that may be damaged, lost or stolen.
  • I only have accessories to consign. Do I have to take photos of these too?
No. With accessories and rugs, we need to visually inspect each piece. Generally it is easier to bring the items directly to the store. Unless, of course, you arrange for pick-up, we can inspect them at that time. However, items forwarded to Divine Consign without prior approval are subject to being rejected if they do not comply with the quality requirements set forth above. We recommend emailing us a photograph of large or bulky items for pre-approval before bringing them into the store.
  • How do I find out how much you will price my items for? Who sets the price?
This is important. Priced too high—the article won’t sell. Priced too low—it’s unfair to the consignor. We are not be able to determine the price of an item until we physically inspect it. At that time, we jointly determine what price to put on your item using the information that you supply about the items you wish to sell (original cost, last cleaning or reupholstering, overall condition) and merging that with our knowledge, we feel that we can obtain for you the best return for your merchandise. The final pricing decision is made by Divine Consign and will be subject to the markdown procedure set forth above.
  • What about payment for sold items?
We are partners with you on a 50/50 basis. Stop in and pick up your money anytime, or use our convenient Consignor Account system to use your sales proceeds toward the purchase of other exciting items from our store! Don’t worry, if you can’t make it to the store, we will mail you a check. Divine Consign’s state-of-the-art sales programs allows consignors to check their account balances online anytime (24/7). Our consignors can also call us anytime with questions concerning their account balance.
  • What happens if my items don’t sell?
Items that are desirable and priced right do sell. Should your item not sell within the 60-day exposure in our showroom, you have 5 from the end of the consignment period to reclaim your items. You may pick them up or arrange for delivery. Most consignors don’t want to see the items again. Therefore, if you do not want to reclaim the items, don’t worry, we will take care of them for you! After the 65th day, the items will automatically become property of Divine Consign and we will dispose of them for you – most likely by donating them to one of the charities we routinely assist.Due to the high volume of consignment pieces and number of consignors, Divine Consign cannot call you to remind you of the expiration of the consignment period. Of course, you can always call us or monitor your account online. Nevertheless, we recommend noting the end of the consignment period on your calendar and act accordingly.
  • Do you have people available to help get things from our truck/auto into your store?
No, we do not. Please bring someone with you to assist in loading and unloading your things. OR we will arrange for convenient reliable personalized professional speedy (and yes, reasonably priced) pick-up services. This is one of the services that sets Divine Consign apart from other stores! Were here to help you! Also, if you call ahead, we can arrange for you to drop items off at our convenient dock located at the rear of the store (please do not go to the rear dock without calling us first!)
  • Will you load any purchased items into our car/truck?
No, unfortunately our insurance prohibits this. We will, however, get any items you purchase to the front door. OR we will arrange for convenient reliable personalized professional speedy (and yes, reasonably priced) pick-up services.   • How do I get my furniture to your shop?
Feel free to bring them in anytime the store is open, call for an appointment or contact us to arrange for convenient reliable personalized professional speedy (and yes, reasonably priced) pick-up services. Were here to help you!Please note that items that are not preapproved may not be accepted by Divine Consign (they are subject to the acceptance criteria set forth above) even if you bring them into the store. However, our acceptance of items is based upon the desires of our customers. So please do not be offended if we are unable to accept certain items.
  • How will I be paid if my furniture is rented?
Divine Consign rents furniture. Should your piece be selected by a customer for rental, no worries – our deal doesn’t change. You will be paid 50% of the selling price of your item at the time it is selected for rental. The property then becomes the property of Divine Consign, who will administer the rental process. Your proceeds from the rental will be deposited directly in your account for your immediate use.
  • If Divine Consign has a 3 day return policy, what happens if my furniture is returned?
If your furniture is returned, we will continue to display your item for the time remaining in your consignment period. Your account will be credited or debited accordingly.
